This movie was very important to me in my formative high school years. It is the story of a regular guy who does extraordinary things with a run-down UHF tv station. But it is so much more than that. It is a struggle of the little guy against a society trying to put him down. It is a story of love and of loyalty. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Mostly, UHF is on my list of movies I love because it is pure, juvenile stupidity. It is full of parodies and booger jokes. From "Wheel of Fish" to every scene between Stanley Spudowsky and his mop, you will be extremely embarrassed that you are laughing. But you will laugh, and that is the important thing.

Another reason that I mention this movie is because the DVD is exactly what I wish all DVD's were. It is packed full of extras, and it is dirt cheap. I got it brand new for about $10. I wasn't expecting much for that kind of money, but it had cut scenes and intros by Weird Al, and even a few Easter eggs.

UHF is worth seeing over and over when your brain is tired of all that thinking you do all day.
