Lucozade is an energy drink make by GlaxoSmithKline, who I think might be a drug company. (Hmm. That makes me mildly nervous.) It comes in six flavors, and I had the orange flavor. It was originally developed in 1927 as a drink for sick people, to give them energy. It has a very high concentration of sugar and a warning on the side not to use for rehydrating from diarrhea and not to give it to children under 2. It is now promoted as an energy drink, and my husband bought me this bottle because I've been mildly ill lately. (Maybe from a raisin overdose...)

The color is a natural orange color, from orange juice and beta carotene, not neon artificial colors. It is extremely sweet and just a little fizzy. The orange flavor doesn't stand out much past the sugar. But it was quite crisp and refreshing. With the calorie and sugar content of this stuff, I wouldn't want to drink it very often, despite the pleasant flavor.

Now, does it really provide "brain and body energy" as the label claims. Well, I do feel more energetic than I did before I drank it. But I'm not sure how much good it has done my brain. I feel hyper, but not very focused. I've had to re-type most of what I've written here because my typo rate has gone way up. So my brain and body are moving faster, but in all directions. And I'm pretty sure that I could still fall asleep if I laid down right now. It tastes good and could be a nice boost if you're working a long shift, but I wouldn't want to drink this very often.
