I’m an idiot

If I ever needed proof that I am occasionally a complete idiot, I have my job to remind me. At my office, the copy machine is also a scanner, which you can use to email yourself (or someone else) pdf files of scanned pages. As part of my job, I scan forms and then rename them and format them, and send them off to other people. So I get up from my desk, walk 10 feet to
the copy room, scan the forms and then go back to my desk. Then there is the idiot moment. The moment when I look at my computer and think, “I have email? I was only away from my desk for a few seconds.” That thought is followed by, “Of course you have email, you idiot. It’s the stuff you just sent to yourself from the the copy machine.”

This happens every time. Thus, we have proof that I am an idiot.

  1. Hmm, that might just be proof that you’re almost as old as me :) I definitely find myself doing stupid things like this more frequently nowadays…

  4. I know it’s been a month since you posted this but I think of it all the time. In fact, I told a co-worker about this and she liked it so much she figures she can use this “I’m an idiot 8 seconds every day” for just about any stupid thing she does in a day. That’s what I’m using it for :)
